War Eagle.... from the couch

I sent Ben off to the game. Without me.

I am just SO tired! I really couldn't even think about waking up early, driving 2 hours, tailgating for 6 hours and then finally going to the game to drive home 2 more hours and be home at midnight tonight. I'm just exhausted typing it!

We went out for our neighbors birthday last night too, which was a lot of fun. I volunteered my DD services and we made it home before 1am, but after that I really wanted to sleep in.

I have to vent about something though. We went to a couple of bars around town where what we saw women in their late thirties & forties dressed like girls in high school and blitzed out of their mind. It seriously was like a train wreck that I couldn't help but watch and I felt so sad for them all. I wondered what they had been like 10 or 20 years before, how many kids they had at home or what they were hoping would happen that night. The dancing that was going on as they all tried to seduce the lead singer of a not-so-fabulous Guns-n-Roses cover band. It was just sad. There is so much more to life than that! I just wonder if any of them know that.

So anyways, here's to a day off :) I love Saturdays like this. (I can't even go grocery shopping or any of the other errands because I have no car, so I am forced to have a relaxing, lazy Saturday). Love it!

Movie Review: Everybody's Fine

We recently got HBO at home as part of a promotion from Dish Network. Yay! So what I do every Sunday is flip through the week's movies and record any movies that Ben and I may want to watch one day. This way when our promotion ends we'll still have a ton of movies to watch on our DVR.

Well, typically we don't watch movies too often so this usually lasts us a year or so, but lately, probably because of my very boring life and the sinus infection I've been recovering from, I've watched about 10 movies in 2 weeks. (5 or 6 of those may have all been watched this past Saturday....)

Anyways, so I watched Everybody's Fine this weekend with Ben. You know that movie with Robert De Niro, where he goes to visit his kids across the country? Yeah, maybe you figured out the sarcasm in the title, but I didn't quite get it. I thought it would be a happy family movie, however, after 2 hours of sobbing I realized..... its not!

This movie is so incredibly SAD!! Unless you want to cry.... a lot, I would not recommend it. Ben actually told me that if I didn't pull it together he was going to turn the movie off. Ha! I'm not sure if he was just tired of the hyperventilating or wanted me quit subjecting myself to the misery. This one is second on the list of saddest movies. The first being Hurricane. Never ever do that one to yourself. Whew!

I did watch a lot of good movies too though, I'll keep you updated :)

I'm an employee!

It happened! I was officially hired on Monday, so today I was able to go to the central office and fill out all my official paperwork and get a badge finally! I will now start earning sick/personal days and get free vision & dental insurance!! (I declined the health insurance because we use Ben's company and as a result you get vision and dental for free!) That was very exciting.

I cannot wait for my first paycheck! I'll probably feel like a billionaire after over a year of very little income :) Yay!! I feel like I need a vacation to celebrate. Hmm... where should I go?

Silence

Gosh, 2.5 weeks since my last post.... Where have I been?!

Honestly, I've been right here, doing a whole lot of nothing except working and figuring out how to do my job.

I just haven't had much to post about lately to tell you the truth.

My life has been very and wonderfully boring. I've had 2 weekends in a row of pure nothingnesss, which was also to recover from one terrible sinus infection. But at the same time, it has been wonderful to do nothing. (PS - I'm pretty sure progesterone is the result of my latest sinus infection as it has happened every time I've taken it this year! Have any of you had similar issues with that?)

Some wonderful news: I heard that my certification to be an official school counselor was mailed to my school district a few weeks ago, and although I have yet to see it, I'm still very excited! Yesterday I was supposed to be officially hired by my school system now that the state has granted this certificate. This is amazing because that means I can finally get master's pay instead of substitute pay! Praise the Lord! That is a HUGE difference. It will still be a few months before I'll see it, but I'm very excited to be able to plan a new budget with 2 incomes.

So in the meantime, I'm a very boring, very happy person. I mailed in my application to become an ALC (Associate Licensed Counselor) several weeks ago, but I realized this morning that I didn't send any money. Most places won't give you anything without that check so.... I probably won't hear from them until they see a couple hundred dollars from me. Oops! I haven't minded the break either though. Once I get my ALC, I will begin weekly supervision sessions with my old professor until I have clocked 3000 hours counseling. Then I will be an LPC, Licensed Professional Counselor. Woo! So that is the long term goal. 1 or 2 years down the road that is.

This weekend Ben and I are going to the Auburn game!! Auburn vs. Clemson :) I'm very excited!
