Oh where, oh where...

Oh where, oh where the heck are my NCE results?!
Oh where, oh where can they be??!?!
With 7 weeks down and 4 days to go.
Oh where, oh where can they be?

This one is an embarassing one because it is certainly NOT ME who has resulted in making up songs about the long lost NCE results. Seriously.... Its not me who is going that crazy about it.

Its been almost 8 weeks...
WHERE THE HECK ARE THE RESULTS?!
I keep thinking I should stop bringing this up because what happens if I don't pass??? (Gulp) Maybe then I'll quit bringing it up. :)

Know when to ask for help.

Today I went Christmas shopping, and accidentally bought myself a Christmas present. Of course I only bought it because I will be able to make super cute cookies and pretty little tins full of them for Christmas gifts....of course! This one to be exact. And let me just tell you.... my cookies look NOTHING like those above. See exhibit A (Side view was a little more forgiving):

In fact, not only do they not look like that, but I'm sure they don't taste like those either. They are kinda crumbly, kinda salty, and kinda just plain bad. My husband (who typically has no problem eating 5 cupcakes at a time or a pan of brownies) ate half..... HALF of one. Then he asked it that was what they were supposed to taste like. HAH! crap....

So all you blog readers. How do I make these cookies beautiful AND not so gross?

Walking in a winter wonderland...

Saturday morning I woke up to a beautiful wintry wonderland white roof... The world in Alabama goes a bit crazy with the mention of 'snow' and everyone was super excited about it. I did not get to see it actually coming down because I think it happened between midnight and 4am, but this is what it looked like around 6am Saturday morning. I was still very excited!

I'm sure you are wondering what crazy person is up at 6am on Saturday morning.... or maybe that was me. Well, I had a workshop to go to and got to see even more of the snow on my drive into Birmingham:
Ooooh....Ahhhh.....

5 Question Friday

1. Favorite gift you are GIVING this year?
What an easy question! Since I have only bought ONE single gift so far, it is my favorite. :) It actually is my favorite because I want it. I can't give too much detail because it is for a family member who may (but probably doesn't) read my blog. It is something that I would never have bought for myself because of the cost, but love love love! And so its my favorite gift (so far) to give because I think my 'family member' would never buy something like this for him or herself either.

2. How many parties are you attending between now and Christmas?

One... and its tomorrow. Isn't that sad? Want to invite me to your Christmas party?! :)

3. What is your favorite Christmas song?
Well I posted a blog a few weeks ago of my all time favorite Christmas song, but since then I've discovered a new one. Have a listen:

4. Who was your favorite elementary school teacher and why?
Oh gosh, this list could be really long.... I loved elementary school.
Mrs. Brown - PE - because she treated us like the adults we wanted to be even though we were 12. She gave us some of the best life lessons too... and was hilarious.

Ms. D - 5th grade math - was the most active, hands-on teacher I remember. We played games, balanced check books, made up skits to math equations (seriously) and ultimately had a great time learning. She was a respectful, fun and amazing teacher.
The teacher that wasn't my favorite almost made me wear a sign all day that said, "I'm a taddle tale." in 5th grade. I'm pretty sure I cried until I hyperventilated to get out of that one. Yep... you lose your teacher of the year award with me Mrs. L.....

5. If you had a choice to live in any other period of time (other than now) what era would you choose and why?
Well if I had to choose: Definitely the 50's (if that counts for another period of time even though it really wasn't too long ago.) Pretty much because I want to do things like this:

and this:
And who could pass up all the milkshakes they drank?!

Tuesday's List - TV!

Could I be a better blogger this week?! I think not.

Okay, so I haven't particpated in Love from Texas' Tuesday's Lists yet but because today is all about TV shows, I couldn't resist. I like to pretend that I am not a tv-aholic (I should do a whole month of 'Not Me Mondays' on this topic). I like to pretend that I am out working out, reading books, cleaning the house, studying.... instead of sitting on the couch staring open-mouthed at the tv. Well, lets list those shows now! In no particular order (because its pretty much a 19-way tie...yes, there are 19 shows currently being recorded on my dvr, its a wonder i have time to go to work).

Okay, I lied.... LOST wins # 1. It is definitely the best show hands down I've ever watched. (Oh how I miss Charlie....)

Grey's Anatomy and all its is-she-gay-is-she-straight-married-not married-killing-saving-patient-post it-goodness.

Oooooh.... BIGGEST LOSER! Look at this picture and tell me you don't love this show too?! I am a sucker for any before/after pictures: weight loss, makeovers, sinks, food, plastic surgery, houses....

Glee (Because I secretly wish I was back in high school singing the theme song to Gilligan's Island on stage again).

Tell me you aren't interested in people who keep so much crap that they almost lose their home. You could be interested because its sad, because you want to help, because you are glad its not you, because you like watching train wrecks, or because its amazing that people like this really exist, but admit it... you are interested. Personally, I want to be their counselor, they fascinate me and make me sad at the same time. I want to help them know why they feel the need to never clean, never throw away and compulsively pick up trash off the street.... could there be a bigger scream for help? (I also think its amazing that someone can be a Certified Professional Organizer specializing in Chronic Disorganization - where were those people on career day?!)

There are a 'few' more, but I'll leave you guessing.

# 8 - Get our first Christmas Tree

I don't think the pictures do it justice. :)

Ben's aunt gave us some beautiful ornaments to put on our first tree. This one is one of my favorites, its a small glass angel. Merry Christmas!!!

Happy Birthday Brother

My little brother turned 24 this weekend! He's another 27 birthday. (Many of us are born on the 27th.) 3 days before he turned 24 he signed with the Army! Baby brother leaves on February 3rd for basic training in Texas. Keep him in your prayers!
